Hi, I’m Gillian Boehm, and I’m a tattoo artist specializing in illustrative and blackwork tattoos! To give a little insight into who I am beyond “Gillian the Artist”, my life is a deeply spiritual one. I dedicate myself and everything I do to my inner journey and practices. That sounds boring, but I promise you that I am definitely super cool. I love to be outdoors in nature as much as possible, and my most cherished moments in life are spent with my lovely fiancé, family, friends, and my many little critters.

 

Now a bit about Gillian the Artist; I am currently based out of Vancouver, however my journey started in Calgary where I graduated from the Alberta University of the Arts for Visual Communication Design. Coming from an artistic background of video game concept art, graphic novels, and animation, I realized that my personal drawing style really suited tattooing and finally had a place to shine. I’m most proficient with black + minimally coloured designs featuring illustrative, organic linework that feature nature, creatures, human figures, and of course anything metaphysical, mystical and spiritual (my bread and butter, mmm).

 

I’ve always loved working one on one with people to make their ideas a reality. The happiness my art can bring to another person has always been the most fulfilling part of creating artwork for me. Due to the deeply personal nature of tattoos, they feel like the ultimate expression of that.
